Kimberly Ann Ford
4-8 Science
Throughout my life, I have learned to be adaptable, considerate, dependable and patient with others. I am an active person whose hobbies include gardening, photography, snow skiing, camping, and exploring trails. I grew up in Waxahachie, was president of FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), an athlete in high school and still love to play basketball, but my true love is for science and the natural world in which we live. I still reside in Waxahachie, Texas, and substitute teacher for the district.
My desire to help others is what led me to become a certified science teacher; however, I consider myself a life-long learner and will continually seeking knowledge in science, psychology and education.
For the past five years, I have worked at the junior high and high school level. In that time, I continued taking courses to complete a Masters degree in Education.
I believe I have a blessed life getting to share my days with family, friends, coworkers and young adults. Outside of the classroom, my primary job is being a role model and mother to my sixteen-year-old son, Cameron, who truly inspires me around the clock to be at my best.
I have a lengthy list of teachers who prefer me as the substitute and call me on a regular basis. Others say I have natural way of calming the atmosphere in any classroom which is because I truly enjoy interacting with the students.
I always try to have a positive outlook on life and to seek the best in others without judgement. I believe the greatest qualities a person should embrace is integrity and the ability to be humble. These are all important characteristics and I model them daily whether I am at home or in public.
My son and I live in Waxahachie and share a home with my parents. We vacation every year to Red River, New Mexico to snow ski and travel to Northern Wisconsin during the heat of Texas summers. We have a fun loving home with an open door policy to the many friends of Cameron. My weekends are entrenched with laughter and very active teenagers, but I would not want it any other way. Life is wonderful when you fill it with the spirits of the youth.
